T-Cong MPs a house divided - 3 Cong MPs Put Quit Plans On Hold,4 Firm On Decision

New Delhi: The resignation threat held out by seven T-Congress MPs to protest the discouraging attitude of their party towards the separate state demand petered out within 24 hours. The MPs met AICC spokesperson P C Chacko and later announced to the media that there was no need for them to resign as they had been assured that the consultations were still on. The 7 MPs,Madhu Yaski,Manda Jagannatham,Ponnam Prabhakar,S Rajaiah,Gutha Sukhender Reddy,G Vivek and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, had stated in Hyderabad on Tuesday that they would go to Delhi on Wednesday and submit their resignations to party president Sonia Gandhi. The resignations, they said, would be conditional. They should be forwarded to the LS Speaker if the party high command fails to announce a time-frame on the issue.

On Wednesday morning, three MPs,Madhu Yaskhi,Ponnam Prabhakar and S Rajaiah, landed in Delhi. After the AICC spokesman told them that the consultation process was in progress on the T-issue and a decision would be announced after that, they told the media that the resignations were put on hold.
In Hyderabad, four MPs Gutha Sukhender Reddy,K Rajagopal Reddy,G Vivekananda and Manda Jagannatham differed with Madhu Yaski on the resignation issue.Talking to the media they said they were firm on their resignations and would not go back.In a late night development,Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar submitted the resignation letters of all the seven T-Congress MPs to party president Sonia Gandhi at her residence.
