Pro,anti-T protesters snubbed - Cong High Commandos Deflate Morale Of T,Anti-T Camps

Spreading confusion over what it proposed to do on the separate state demand by January 28, the Congress high command on Tuesday deflated the morale of both the Telangana and Seemandhra camps by ticking them off for aggressively carrying out campaigns for and against the division of Andhra Pradesh. While Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde did this to the Seemandhra leaders when they called on him on Tuesday morning,AICC general secretary (in-charge of AP) Ghulam Nabi Azad reprimanded the Telangana leaders when they called on him in the afternoon. With Shinde having announced that a decision on Telangana would be taken by January 28,both groups have been camping in Delhi for the last two days and lobbying for their respective causes.

The Seemandhra leaders on Tuesday met President Pranab Mukherjee,Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,AICC functionary Vayalar Ravi and Azad.It was the meeting with Azad that gave them a reality-check.Sources said Azad in a stern note told them to leave the issue of the division of the state to the party high command and implored them to go to their respective villages and work to strengthen the party. According to the sources, Azad told them not to bother about the T or Samaiky andhra issues as it falls in the ambit of the party high command.Forget regional issues. You better concentrate on strengthening the party in the region to win more seats in the 2014 polls,"is what Azad told the 40-member delegation. However, later in the day,the Seemandhra delegation told the media that their talks with the central leaders including Azad were cordial and fruitful.TG Venkatesh,S Sailajanath,Erasu Pratap Reddy and Gade Venkata Reddy said they are happy that Azad told them to leave the Samaikyandhra issue to the party and suggested they should first work to win the elections.
Meanwhile,Azad told the Telangana Congress leaders who called on him not to persist with the division of the state as the drawbacks that are being pointed out can be rectified within the parameters of united Andhra. This happened after the 30-member strong T-Congress team consisting of ministers K Jana Reddy,J Geeta Reddy,DK Aruna,Sunitha Lakshma Reddy,P Sudharshan Reddy,D Sridhar Babu,MPs,Madhu Yaskhi Goud,Ponnam Prabhakar,Gutha Sukhender along with MLAs and MLCs demanded that Shinde set up the Telangana state with Hyderabad as the capital as assured by the party on many occasions.
