Quit or face defeat: KCR to T Congress leaders

Early in the morning, about two dozen students were arrested at Nizam College as a preventive measure. In all, scores of student protesters were taken into preventive custody during the day and released later by the police. At the Samara Deeksha,KCR reiterated his warning to Telangana Congress leaders in power that they would be relegated to political oblivion unless they quit their party. The T-JAC has charted out plans to take forward the Telangana movement. The agitation includes targeting the Congress leaders who are clinging on to power shamelessly even after their party ditching the people of the region. While supporting the agitation, the TRS will come up with its own plan.We will give the details of the plan shortly, the TRS chief said.

Coming down heavily on the Centre for ignoring the sentiments of the Telangana people,KCR said the Centre is oblivious to the sensitivity of the issue. It is keeping quiet even after foreign countries have issued travel advisories to their citizens in view of the tension and unrest in Telangana. The days of the Congress is numbered as their leaders from Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to Sonia Gandhi have betrayed the people of the region. The steering committee of T-JAC resolved to call upon Telangana people to politically boycott the Congress leaders in the region.Following the steering committee meeting, the T-JAC released an eightpoint resolution that demanded the T-Congress ministersboth in the state and at the Centre - to quit, and appealed to the people to boycott the Congress leaders.

The theme of the resolutions was Congress ko khatam karo,Telangana hasil karo. While calling upon the people to ban the Congress leaders from entering their villages, the T-JAC asked them not to take part in their public functions and not to invite them to the protest programmes relating to the Telangana movement.
