Bhongir: During his first visit to the Telangana region after becoming a cabinet minister,Union HRD minister Pallam Raju said the Congress respects the strong Telangana sentiment.Speaking to the media at R&B guesthouse here on Sunday,Pallam Raju said that the time has come to put an end to the Telangana imbroglio. The Union minister, however, declined to respond on the statement made by the Centre on December 9,2009,on Telangana issue.

VOTE US TO POWER TO REALIST TELANGANA DREAM, SAYS KCR

Suryapet: Give me 17 MPs and we can bring Telangana, said KCR while beating the Telangana war drum ( Samara Bheri ) to mark the relaunch of the movement to achieve a separate state at a rally in Suryapet on Sunday evening. The TRS chief also sounded the election bugle and called upon the people of Telangana to vote for his party so that the Telangana dream is realised.
He said that the TRS could put pressure on the Union government and stall the Parliament proceedings with 17 MPs on hand, and Telangana state would be a reality if his party wins 100 assembly seats in the region. We are two MPs now,and raising our voice in Parliament. If we get 17 MPs,we can stall its proceedings till the Union government announces a separate state.I appeal to the people of Telangana to keep this in mind while exercising their franchise, KCR said.
He added that his party and the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) had decided a two-pronged strategy to achieve Telangana, intensifying the agitation led by TJAC and winning elections led by TRS.
Criticising the regimes of Chandrababu Naidu and Y S Rajasekhara Reddy,KCR said that Telangana region could not have expected justice under these leaders as they were from Seemandhra. He assured an old-age pension of Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 pension for the handicapped if his party comes to power. He also assured T-government employees salary on a par with central payscale.
To achieve all this we need political power and I call upon the people of Telangana to give us the power, KCR thundered.Prior to KCRs speech,M Kodandaram, chairman of TJAC,addressed the gathering and said that the strategies for intensifying the agitation would be laid down in a couple of days following deliberations during the steering committee meeting. He said December 9 would be observed as an inspiration day as then Union home minister P Chidambaram issued a positive statement on T on that day in 2009,and December 23 would be observed as Vidroha Dinam (day of revolt ) as the Union government went back on its word on that day in 2009.
The Congress deceived us on Telangana, and we must give a befitting reply. We will first target the Congress ministers and then intensify the agitation and will not stop till the Telangana state is achieved, said Kodandaram.

KCR vows to step up T-stir

TRS would step up the agitation for achieving separate Telangana and try to emerge as a major political force to be able to articulate its demand forcefully, party president K Chandrasekhar Rao said.Addressing a massive public meeting at Suryapet in Nalgonda district,he said give me 17 MPs and we can bring Telangana.

The TRS chief Also sounded the election bugle and called upon the people of Telangana to vote for his party so that the dream of Telangana state is realised. He said TRS could put pressure on Union government and stall Parliament proceedings with 17 MPs on hand, and Telangana state could be realised if his party wins 100 assembly seats in the region.

He said his party and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC ) had decided a twopronged strategy to achieve Telangana: intensifying the agitation led by the T-JAC,and winning elections led by TRS. Intensifying the agitation led by T-JAC is one aspect and the getting political is another important aspect. And people of Telangana must support TRS in the polls, while participating in the agitation, KCR added.

T state far away - No Solution Possible Without Consensus : Azad

Hyderabad: Contradicting all the theories of T-talks and early decision on separate state,AICC general secretary and Union minister of health and family welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad made it clear on Friday that a decision favouring Telangana was not possible in the near future. It is not an easy task, Azad said in his brief stop-over here on his way back to Delhi from Chennai where he attended the meeting of health ministers of southern states.During his five-hour stay in Hyderabad,Azad launched a health mela at the Exhibition Grounds.Later,Azad paid an unusual visit to the city Congress office and addressed the party leaders where the only talking point was Telangana. This time, Azad was extremely bold.So far,no decision has been taken on Telangana, he said. Azad was one of the key figures whom K Chandrasekhar Rao met during his month-long stay in Delhi last month.Claiming that he had consulted all top leaders of Congress party,Rao said a decision on Telangana is expected soon and only a final meeting is pending. However,Azad told the Congress leaders that a decision on Telangana was not as easy as the formation of Chhattisgarh,Uttaranchal and Jharkhand. Telangana is a complex issue.Consensus has been elusive even though we have been talking to leaders of all the regions for the past two years, Azad said, flanked of many senior leaders including PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana,Danam Nagender and V Hanumantha Rao. When asked about the consultations with TRS leader Chandrasekhar Rao,Azad said apart from Rao,the consultation were going with several others leaders. We are talking to the leaders from Telangana,Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra. They are expressing their own views. As a result,we are not able to arrive at a consensus. The talks will go on till a consensus is reached, he said, adding that the separate state could not be formed without consensus. Hanumantha Rao disputed Azads comparision of Telangana with Jharkhand,Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh. They were carved out of three states -- UP,Bihar and MP.This is not the case with Telangana.Telangana was earlier an entity called Hyderabad state with a separate chief minister until it was clubbed with Andhra to form Andhra Pradesh in 1956, Rao said. The Rajya Sabha member said that the people of the region were demanding the restoration of status quo anti of 1956.Regarding the other comments of Azad,Rao brushed it aside stating there was nothing new in Azads comments. Rival MPs rush to Delhi as CWC set to discuss T today - Seemandhra Cong Leaders Out To Scuttle T Initiative

New Delhi/Hyderabad: Amid claims and counterclaims that the Congress high command will make a forward movement on the vexed Telangana issue by the end of this week, elected representatives from both the regions have begun descending on New Delhi. While the Telangana MPs and MLAs want to clear the air for themselves as to whether there really is going to be any positive announcement on the separate state demand, their Seemandhra counterparts are in the national capital in order to nip in the bud any such moves by the Congress. AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad called on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday and among other things, discussed the Telangana issue, party sources said. Azad informed Sonia about the arrival of Congress leaders from both the regions and the resolve of T-JAC to stick to its proposed Chalo Hyderabad march on September 30.Similarly, he briefed her about state governments efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the global biodiversity convention scheduled to commence in Hyderabad from October 1, the sources said.Along with the T-issue, Azad also discussed the restructuring of party in the state, they added. The Congress Working Committee chaired by Sonia is slated to meet on Tuesday morning, and the sources indicated that a discussion and possible solution on Telangana is among the issues on top of the agenda.

In a day of hectic parleys on T issue, a few Seemandhra MPs & leaders held a meeting in New Delhi on Monday at the residence of Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. Apart from Kavuri, the meeting was attended by fellow MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal, Ananta Venkatarami Reddy, JD Seelam, and state education minister S Sailajanath. Sailajanath told TOI that he is in Delhi to ascertain the veracity of the reports that the high command was finalizing the programme to create a separate Telangana state.
More MPs are expected to join them in a couple of days and a large contingent of Seemandhra MLAs are also planning to land in Delhi next week in order to put pressure on high command to postpone the T-decision, if any, by the high command.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
T-MPs launch counter moves
Hyderabad: Talking to the media after the meeting,Sailajanath said he would meet the senior leaders in Delhi to brief them about the feelings in the Seemandhra region. If there is any movement in the direction of T-formation,all the party MLAs and MLCs would come to Delhi to discuss the same with the leadership, he said. He,however, expressed the hope that Congress high command would not take any irresponsible decision. Meanwhile, in Hydbad, minutes after they got to know that Seemandhra leaders held a meeting in Delhi, a group of Telangana MPs went into a huddled at the residence of former Rajya Sabha MP K Keshava Rao and after discussing the Telangana issue, airdashed to Delhi in order to counter the moves of their regional counterparts and find out for themselves whether there is going to be any positive announcement on the separate state demand.

The MPs who met at KKs residence comprised Madhu Yaskhi Goud,Manda Jagannatham, G Vivek and S Rajaiah. Sources said more MPs from the region are expected to follow these members to New Delhi on Tuesday and Wednesday. After their meeting and before leaving for Delhi, the 4 MPs asked the Seemandhra Congress leaders not to attempt to scuttle the T-process in any manner. If  Seemandh-ra leaders do not desist from their anti-T activities, they will have to face severe consequences, they warned.  Meanwhile,T-JAC and other outfits continued with their preparations for the Chalo Hydbad march on September 30 and said that September 27 is the deadline for any announcement by Centre. If no such announcement is forthcoming by that date, then the September 30 siege of Hyderabad will not be a one-day affair, and end only when Telangana is granted, they said on Monday.
