Nizamabad: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said that the state government will implement the Centres decision on Telangana based on the recommendations of the Srikrishna Committee report. Addressing a public meeting at the collector grounds after performing bhoomi puja for a medical college and laying foundation stone for various developmental programmes at Khaleel wadi ground here,Kiran Kumar Reddy,who visited the district for the first time after taking over as CM,said the demand for a separate state has evoked strong sentiments for and against it in all the three regions.It is with a view to resolve the issue that the Centre appointed the Srikrishana committee. Everybody should wait for the committee report.The state government will implement whatever decision the central government will take on the report, he said. Condemning the opposition parties for charging that the state government was acting harshly against the students,the CM termed it as totally baseless.Out of 9000 students in Osmania University,only 123 students were implicated in 152 cases and only 59 students arrested,he said.
As soon as the chief minister began his speech,Telangana Rashtra Samithi women wing activists were on their feet raising slogans in favour of Telangana.However,Kiran went ahead with his speech and the activists were later cleared by the cops.Saying that it was the right of the common people to know about the welfare schemes that were being implemented by the government,Kiran Kumar went about explaining the various welfare schemes such as Pavalavaddi,free power,loans waiver etc.

Heavy security during Kirans visit
Sensing trouble from Telangana activists,the security forces virtually turned Nizamabad town into a fortress ahead of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddys visit on Tuesday.All the main roads leading to Khaleelwadi grounds where CM performed bhoomi puja for medical college and laid foundation stone for various development programmes and meeting venue at collector grounds where the CM addressed the public were virtually teeming with security personnel.Iron fencing and barricades were put up at various places leading to the main venue for about five hours from 12 noon to 5 pm.Except for political leaders vehicles,other vehicles including two-wheelers,were not allowed to enter the town.Commuters were seen walking along with their luggage on the roads as RTC buses,autorikshwas and other private operators too were stopped on the outskirts of the town.
