PETITIONER DEMANDS DISMISSAL OF MANTRIS - Seemandhra ministers face more legal hurdles : Yet Another Case Filed Against Them For Anti-T Remarks

Nizamabad: A second case was registered against 16 ministers from the Andhra and Rayalaseema regions for their alleged claims that seeking separate Telangana state on the basis of self-respect was like waging a war against the nation. First class judicial magistrate K Janardhan on Tuesday directed the I Town police to register the case and investigate the matter based on a private petition filed by an advocate M Rajender Reddy.Reddy had filed the plea on August 12.

Cases were registered under sections 120 (b),124 (a),153 (a),153 (b),420 and 500 of the IPC against the 16 ministers. The ministers had reportedly made the observations of seditious claims before the Srikrishna Committee during its visit to Hyderabad. The magistrate also directed the police to intimate the court on the action taken report before August 20. Speaking to reporters,Rajender Reddy demanded that the ministers be removed from the cabinet as they had hurt the sentiments of Telangana region people. They acted as ministers for only Andhra and Rayalaseem regions, he said.He wanted the government to take serious action against the ministers.

The first FIR against the 16 ministers was registered at Hyderabads Saifabad police station last week following a similar complaint by the Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee and a consequent direction from the first additional chief metropolitan magistrate of Hyderabad. After registering the case, the Saifabad police transferred the case to the Central Crime Station (CCS),whose action taken report is to be submitted to the local court by August 20.

The 16 Andhra-Rayalaseema ministers who were named are Gade Venkata Reddy,Kanna Lakshminarayana,Dharmana Prasada Rao,Vatti Vasant Kumar,Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose,Anam Ramnarayana Reddy,Ahmadulla,Ramachandra Reddy,Galla Aruna Kumari,Mopidevi Venkata Ramana,Manikya Varaprasad,Balineni Srinivas Reddy,Viswarup,Balaraju,Pitani Satyanarayana and Parthasaradhi.

The filing of petitions against the ministers follows criticism by the TRS first and the Telangana Congress leaders later who also demanded that the ministers tender an apology. However, the ministers have denied they they made any such allegations before the Srikrishna Committee. But the TRS and Telangana Congress leaders continue to demand that chief minister K Rosaiah drop these ministers for their anti-Telangana remarks.TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao had in in fact met governor E S L Narasimhan and sought the removal of the ministers. With both the courts seeking the action report by August 20,it remains to be seen whether any more such petitions are filed in the Telangana courts.
