KCR sets deadline for Andhra ministers apology

TRS chief K Chand r a s e k h a r Rao on Tuesday demanded unconditional apology from Seem a n d h r a ministers for calling T protagonists traitors, in the report they submitted to Srikrishna Committee recently. He said if they failed to apologise to the people of Telangana in two days, they would petition the governor demanding that these ministers be sacked. Talking to the media,Rao said that the ministers were now trying to wriggle out of the situation by claiming that they did not use such a word in report. But TRS has a copy of the report in which it has been mentioned several times,he said.

Lashing out at the group of ministers who had also claimed that Telangana districts were developed,he said the ministers had submitted a false report to the committee. With the Centre stating that 9 districts of Telangana were backward,it has become clear that the report submitted by them was a bunch of lies. The ministers degraded the governments reputation on the issue of Telangana, he said. As ministers, they should act in an impartial manner but they chose to present a wrong picture before the committee,he said.Apparently, they are not performing their duties properly or were making a deliberate attempt, to dilute the demand for separate Telangana state,he said.

KCR also demanded that chief minister K Rosaiah sack DGP R R Girish Kumar for issuing promotion orders to non-local city police officials on the pretext that Hyderabad fell under free zone as per the Supreme Court directions. He pointed out that the government adopted resolution which included Hyderabad in sixth zone. The DGP acted against the spirit of democracy by nullifying the resolution.CM should prove his sincerity by removing him from the post, KCR said. KCR also shot off an open letter to CM demanding to release Rs 300 crore to complete pending works at Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) and reinstate officials who were suspended.

Ministers should quit: T Cong

Congress leaders from Telangana are meeting on August 14, to chalk out a plan of agitation against the Seemandhra ministers who allegedldy told the SriKrishna Committee that demanding a separate state was anti-national.The meeting,in which ministers,MLAs,MPs and other leaders from all districts will participiate, will discuss the stand taken by the ministers. This is an act of impropriety. The have presented a memorandum to the committee, dubbing the Telanana demand as anti-national. The also commented that the very constitution of the Srikrishna Committee itself was anti-constitutianal and anti-national, 4 senior leaders from Telangana said.Party spokesperson and former MLC B Kamalakar Rao, party MLCs K Yadav Reddy,S Jagadeswara Reddy,T Bhanuprasad said they were planning an agitation for the removal of the ministers from the cabinet. All the ministers from Rayalaseema and Andhra lied to the people by saying that they did not utter any word like anti-national in their report to the committee. Taking this on the face value, CM Rosaiah clarified to the Telangana people that Seemandhra ministers did not use the word anti-national. But, the media exposed how the ministers had misled the state as well as the CM, they said. This is an act of gross impropriety. Either they should resign from the cabinet on their own or the CM should sack them immediately, they demanded.
