TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday met Union home minister P Chidambaram in New Delhi and urged him to withdraw cases registered against students and party workers who participated in the Telangana agitation in December 2009. Speaking to newsmen after the meeting,KCR claimed that Chidambaram agreed to withdraw cases after consulting chief minister K Rosaiah and state DGP RR Girish Kumar. According to KCR,Chidambaram assured him that he would meet the DGP who was also in New Delhi as part of the two-day national conference of state police heads on Thursday night and discuss the issue.Cases have been booked against students of Telangana and Andhra regions when the state was in turmoil in both the regions. TRS leader said the delegation including the representatives of Telangana student JAC would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submit a memorandum urging him to render justice to the students.KCR demanded an all-party meeting on the issue. He will meet the chief minister after returning to the city.

Meanwhile, party MP Vijayashanti met BJP leader LK Advani and discussed about the political situation in the state and the byelection results.
