OU suicide mars T fete - Student Ends Life,Urges People To Carry Forward Fight For Telangana

The victory celebrations of the TRS following the massive mandate it got in the bypolls was cut short by the suicide of a student on Osmania University campus on Saturday.The charred body of P Eshan Reddy,a 23-year-old engineering student,was found behind the library building by morning walkers around 6.30 am.A native of Medak district,Eshan had completed his final year engineering from Scient Institute of Science and Technology,Ibrahimpatnam,and was preparing for GRE this September. A bag and a blanket was also found at the spot along with a suicide note.In the suicide note,Eshan allegedly said that he killed himself as an offering to Goddess Maisamma.I promised to sacrifice my life to Misamma Talli if DS (PCC president and Nizamabad Urban Congress candidate D Srinivas) lost in the byelections.Now,after my death my brethren will take forward the Telangana agitation, the note said.
While congratulating the Telangana legislators for winning all the 12 seats in the byelections,Eshan,in his suicide note, exhorted the people of the region to target the Congress and TDP leaders for not supporting the Telangana cause.The suicide note also requested TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao to continue with programmes supporting the Telangana cause.The suicide,however,left analysts baffled. Why should he give up his life if DS lost in the bypolls.DS is anyway not a strong votary of Telangana. He should have been happy that DS had lost and the BJP candidate who won the election is a strong proponent of the separate state, a political analyst said.

A native of Basanthpur of Nyalkal mandal in Medak district,Eshan had moved to the city four years ago to pursue engineering.He was staying with his uncle Madhusudhan Reddy at Narayanguda along with his younger brother,Sravan Reddy,who is doing B Tech in PRRN College of Engineering in the city.His father Indrasena Reddy is a farmer.
