Hyderabad/Mahbubnagar: The ongoing Sakala Janula Samme (SJS) entered 27th day on Sunday with Telangana protestors intensifying the stir in all the 10 districts of the region.
The teachers JAC conducted a half-naked protest and later bathed in the open at a crossroads in Wanaparthy town. Teachers JAC leader Venkat Ramulu lashed out at the Centre for dilly-dallying on the formation of separate Telangana issue.He said the teachers were ready to take classes only if Telangana is formed.Otherwise we are ready to stay in jails, he said and warned that the schools would not be opened.
Advocates marched towards Madugul to lay a siege to the house of Union petroleum minister S Jaipal Reddy in Mahbubnagar demanding his resignation.But police arrested them.The lawyers shouted slogans against Jaipal.He sits in Delhi claiming that he has own views regarding Telangana.He should come down to his native Mahbubnagar district to see for himself the intensity of the ongoing agitation, a protesting lawyer said.
In Narayanpet,Kalwakurthy and Achampet,Telangana leaders staged dharnas by dancing on the roads and playing kabaddi. In Mahbubnagar town,JAC president Rajendar Reddy along with government employees sat on a relay hunger strike in support of SJS.Reddy said SJS would continue till the Centre makes an announcement of Telangana.No police force can stop our strike.If they try to suppress our movement we are ready to lay down our lives, he warned.
