TRS men stone Naidus convoy -Want Him To Spell Out T Stand

Telangana Rashtra Samithi and BJP activists on Monday turned the heat on TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu regarding the partys stance on the Telangana issue by pelting his convoy with stones.This happened while he was on his way from Hyderabad to Mahbubnagar district headquarters to stage a protest over shortage of fertilizers in the state. The trouble began in Parigi in Ranga Reddy district where Naidu and his team halted for breakfast at the residence of local TDP MLA Harishwar Reddy around 10 am on Monday.Within no time,TRS and BJP activists gathered outside and demanded that the TDP chief clearly spell out his partys stance on the separate state issue.

The slogan-shouting protesters attempted to storm the MLAs house which ended up with a lathicharge by the police.But in the ensuing stone-pelting,a security guard who was driving a vehicle,and three party workers were injured while six vehicles,including an SUV in Naidus convoy,were damaged. Harishwar Reddy later emerged out of his house and took a delegation of the protesters to meet the TDP chief.About 10 protesters were later detained by the cops.But even as a determined Naidu went ahead with his Mahbubnagar visit,he was met with further protests en route.

Within minutes after leaving Parigi,TRS activists again tried to block Naidus convoy but were thwarted by the police.Around 1 pm,the TDP chief reached Tunkimetla in the Kodangal constituency of Mahbubnagar district and addressed the villagers.Condemning the stone-pelting incident,Naidu said he was at a loss to understand as to why TRS was resorting to such acts when the TDP was not opposed to Telangana and when his MLAs from the region have been fighting for it. But he was chary of saying that he himself was for a separate state.

Chief minister K Rosaiah is sick and agriculture minister N Raghuveera Reddy does not move out of Hyderabad but claims that there is no shortage of fertilizers, Naidu told the gathering.The state government is encouraging black marketing.It is anti-farmer and antipoor, he said in a bid to divert the issue of Telangana. From there,Naidu went around the agriculture fields at Maddunur and interacted with the farmers.He then reached Kosigi but before he could address the farmers,was greeted with stones from TRS protesters.

After a short stay,Naidu arrived in Koilakuntla and addressed a gathering.The TDP chief reached the collectorate in Mahbubnagar town around 6.30 pm and sat on a dharna. Meanwhile,in protest against the attack on their leaders vehicle,TDP workers staged rasta rokos in Basheerbagh in Hyderabad and in Warangal district. In fact,ever since Naidu changed his stance on the Telangana issue and opposed the division of the state,TRS and other pro-Telangana groups have been targeting him whenever he toured the region.

Naidu was also greeted by protests from slogan-shouting TRS workers when he visited Karimnagar on August 23 to offer condolences to the family of party leader G Venkateshwar Rao who had passed away.The TDP chief may focus on farmers issues,price rise,corruption,etc.and cry hoarse about governments all-round failure.But until he makes his stand clear on Telangana,the TRS and other separate state votaries will continue to target him, threatened a Telangana TDP leader.
