Now KCR cosies up to Congress -TRS Chief Likely To Meet PM Manmohan & Sonia In New Delhi Next Month

Speculations are rife in Telangana Rashtra Samiti circles that the party president K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen to revive the kind of ties he had with Congress party in 2004 and that he would be going to New Delhi in June to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi for the same. According to party leader B Vinod, KCR has asked the state government to lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to draw the attention of the Centre towards the issue of declaring Hyderabad as free zone in regard to recruitment and transfer of employees particularly in police department and explain to Centre about the injustice meted out to Telangana. KCR had asked chief minister K Rosaiah last week to put pressure on Centre to amend the Constitution to protect the interests of Telangana people. If the government fails to lead an allparty delegation to Centre,a TRS delegation led by KCR will meet the prime minister, other ministers and leaders of national parties to discuss the issue, he said.
Another senior leader said, KCR during interactions with party leaders, told them that it was right time to meet Sonia Gandhi and bring free zone issue to her notice as it required constitutional amendment.

KCR, who had adopted a soft stand towards Congress party after Srikrishna Committee was constituted, now feels that since it has given positive indications that it was in favour of separate T state, it would be better if the cordial relations between the two parties were restored. He is also said to be in touch with senior Congress leaders like K Keshav Rao and G Venkataswamy and was seeking their help to meet Sonia Gandhi, sources said. The TRS chief will also discuss the issue of allocation of natural gas to power plant in Karimnagar district with the prime minister and will appeal to him to direct the state government to stop the construction of Polavaram project on Godavari river as it would submerge many villages and tribal hamlets in Telangana region.
