Cong leaders seek more time to present T views

Congress leaders from Andhra and Telangana have requested the Srikrishna Committee to give them time till June to present their views on the contentious issue of Telangana. Endowments minister and leader of the Andhra group Gade Venkata Reddy has written to the committee requesting a meeting in June. Reddy is said to have informed the committee that many of the Congress legislators had been busy with Prajapatham programme and were not prepared enough to present their views during the current visit of the committee to the city. The month-long Prajapatham programme ended on Saturday. Similarly, the Congress leaders from Telangana sought some more time to present their views. In fact,a team led by the CWC working committee member K Keshava Rao was to make a presentation before commission this week. According to sources, Rao is waiting for the clearance for the same from the central leadership. The committee arrived in Hyderabad on Monday morning for the fifth round of consultations. Leaders of Telangana NGOs and scholars from Osmania University and a delegation from National Students Union of India met the commission at Jubilee Hall.
