T state is NDAs priority: Gadkari Slams Govt For Deploying Paramilitary Forces To Suppress T Movement

Adilabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party has threatened that it would stall the proceedings of Parliament even if a single bullet was fired on the people agitating for separate Telangana state. Addressing a well-attended public meeting here at DIET college grounds on Tuesday as part of Telangana Poru, BJP national president Nitin Gadkari said that the NDA would come back to power in 2014 elections and the first task of the BJP-led government would be formation of Telangana state.

He said his party would fight on behalf of the 4.5 crore Telangana people for achieving the separate state.Blaming the UPA government for failing to fulfil its promise, made to the Telangana people,he reiterated the BJP stand of granting Telangana soon after the NDA comes to power at the Centre. Gadkari blamed the government for deploying huge paramilitary forces in the region to suppress the movement. It would be foolish if anybody tries to suppress the movement with police force, he said amid loud cheers.

He said the 176 NDA ally MPs were ready to extend their support if the Congress government introduces a Bill in Parliament and asked the Congress government to prove its sincerity by tabling the Bill.He assured to raise the issue at the NDA meeting to be held in Delhi on Wednesday. He added that former home minister Vallabhbhai Patel was a strongman, unlike present HM P Chidambaram, whom he termed as a plastic man for taking back his December 9 statement of 2009.He said people of Vidharba in Maharashtra have also extended their support to Telangana. On the Srikrishna Committee report, the BJP chief said the Centre was playing delaying tactics to divert the issue.

Referring to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidus statement that both Telangana and Andhra were his two eyes,Telangana JAC convener Prof M Kodandaram termed both Telugu Desam and Congress as snakes having two heads. BJP state president G Kishan Reddy said they would form the government in Telangana state and develop the region on a par with the prosperous Gujarat state.
