TRCCC meet fails to endorse report on T

The Telangana Regional Congress Coordination Committee (TRCCC) on Wednesday failed to endorse the report prepared to be submitted to the justice Srikrishna Committee as certain views expressed in it were opposed by ministers. At the TRCCC meeting, which was called to finalise the report,it was found that the draft report criticised several government policies. A new report, presenting the government schemes in a proper perspective, would be prepared in a day or two, sources said. The report will remove any criticism of the governments efforts to develop the region and simply say that the T sentiment remains strong among the people despite the implementation of several programmes, a member told. Major irrigation minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah is said to have stated that he could not be party to the report which was at variance with the policies of the government. He also reportedly took objection to describing last Octobers floods in Kurnool district as a man-made disaster. The minister is said to have argued that the allegation was disproved and therefore,it was incorrect to state so.

Of the total 21 TRCCC members, 18 were present at the meeting convened by G Chinna Reddy. Apart from Ponnala, other ministers who came for the meeting included J Geeta Reddy and DK Aruna. AR Amos, M Kodanda Reddy, K Jana Reddy and Jeevan Reddy also attended the meeting. The committee decided to fill all the gaps in the report before the expiry of the March 22 deadline for the submission of the report to the Srikrishna committee.
