Telangana JAC expels TDP MLAs

Hyderabad: The Telangana political Joint Action Committee has decided to expel TDP MLAs for failing to resign from their posts as agreed earlier. JAC convenor M Kodandaram told media late on Friday night that the decision was taken at a meeting attended by TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao,Prof Jayashankar and representatives of Telangana Employees Association. Relations between the TDP and political JAC worsened after Telangana TDP MLAs accused Kodandaram of acting at the behest of a political party and of not taking into consideration the views of other members in the JAC.The TDP MLAs reacted sharply to the JAC convenors unilateral decision. At present, the political JAC has a non-active partner in BJP and an active party as TRS.

KCR to take T battle to public from Korutla

After a brief lull,TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to take the Telangana movement to centrestage once again by kickstarting a public meeting at Korutla in Karimnagar district on Saturday. Rao,who spearheaded the T movement, has been silent for over a month ever since the terms of reference of Srikrishna committee were announced. The TRS supremo during this period had confined himself to address the media and concentrating on the television channel to be launched by the party by March end.Of late,he has been facing criticism from T frontal organisations for not resigning from the Lok Sabha. He has also not attended the ongoing budget session of the Parliament.

According to party sources,Rao is now donning the role of an editor and making plans on content development for the yet to be launched Telangana channel. He is reportedly spending over two hours a day in the studio at Telangana Bhavan where the production of TV programmes is underway. He is holding regular meetings with journalists and other staff, and is monitoring the progress of channel works, sources said. KCR is said to have spoken to the district cable operators and sought their help to telecast the channel in prime band.At present, the T channel is using the satellite space of Tamil Nadu-based Raj TV network which has been airing test signals for last one week as the ministry of information and broadcasting is yet to accord permission for the channel under the name of "T-10".
