Star wars: Vijayashanti tells Chiru to leave Hyd

Its a cine story that went awry. Former Tollywood heroine Vijayashanti,now a TRS Lok Sabha MP,on Thursday asked Chiranjeevi, opposite whom she has acted in many hit films,to buzz off from Hyderabad and shift to the Andhra region. Chiranjeevi is opposing the creation of Telangana, he has no moral right to stay in Hyderabad.If he visits this region in future,he will face the ire of the Telangana people, Vijay-shanti, nicknamed Lady Amitabh, during her acting days ranted at a press conference. The latest cause for the ire, Chiranjeevi and his Prajarajyam party opposed the resolution passed in the state assembly on Thursday seeking to make Hyderabad a part of the sixth zone for police transfers and appointments. For those who came in late,zone six for Hyderabad means that appointments to government jobs in this case police jobs below the gazetted level will be only the preserve of Telangana-domiciled persons. The resolution came up because the Supreme Court had early this week hearing case on the matter declared that Hyderabad was a free zone.This means anyone from the state can get employment here for positions under contention and people from other regions working here could continue doing so.

The Chiranjeevi family which is not only into acting but also into film production has had a run-in with the TRS on the Telangana issue for long and supporters of the regional party disrupting the shooting and screening of films starring Allu Arjun,son of Chiranjeevis brother-in-law and PRP leader Allu Arvind.
The TRS had also undertaken a campaign in the region against the sale of a soft drink which is being endorsed by Chiranjeevis son Ram Charan Teja. Chiranjeevis Prajarajyam is the only political party to take a clear stand against creation of Telangana.Other parties leaving aside TRS and BJP have been hunting with the hound and running with the hare.Some times they are pro-Telangana other times against it.

Centre may agree to interim authority for Darjeeling


The Centre on Thursday favoured setting up an interim authority for Darjeeling and neigbouring areas with certain powers over development matters to the agitating Gorkhas who have been demanding a separate Gorkhaland state. This came during the first round of political talks with the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) which presented a blueprint of an interim regional authority. The talks were attended by minister of state for home Ajay Maken,GJM general secretary Roshan Giri,Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi,interlocutor Lt General Vijay Madan besides state government represenatives.The Centre is in favour of setting up an interim authority for the area after consulting all stakeholders including state government as it wants development activities to resume there.Adequate funds will be given by the Centre for this purpose,said Maken. Giri came up with the blueprint of the interim authority having powers similar to a state.Though the Centre did not fully agree with the GJMs draft,officials here expressed the hope that some common ground could be found during the next round of talks scheduled for mid-May.
