Centre planning Rayala-T : KCR - Anantapur,Kurnool In T,No Compromise On Hyd

Stating that an announcement on Telangana state was certain within the next two months,TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed that the Centre was seriously examining a proposal to carve out Rayala-Telangana by excluding Kadapa and Chittoor districts. In an informal chat with reporters at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday,KCR said he was privy to specific information from Government of India officials that the Centre was exploring the possibility of including Kurnool and Anantapur districts in Telangana region keeping in view the emerging political equations. According to the feedback given to the TRS chief, the Centre was keen to include Kurnool,Nandyal,Anantapur and Hindupur Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana region so that coastal Andhra and Rayala-Telangana both would have 21 Lok Sabha seats each and 147 Assembly seats each. The current strength of the Andhra Pradesh state assembly is 294 seats.

The development is presumed to be significant as MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, who had called on KCR at his residence on Tuesday, has been repeatedly claiming that they were not averse to the idea of Rayala-Telangana,as it would give MIM encouraging space for political growth and keep BJPs rise under check. The TRS chief said they would not mind sharing Hyderabad as a joint capital for a few years. We will not accept Telangana without Hyderabad. It is an integral part of the region. There is no compromise. Also,we are firm against any tag of UT status for Hyderabad, he said.Meanwhile, congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal dismissed KCRs statements as `wishful thinking.Nothing of that sort has ever come up for a discussion in Delhi, he said. Senior Congress leader JC Diwakar Reddy however wel comed the speculative proposal. Responding to the development, minister T G Venkatesh renewed his demand for making Kurnool the second capital of Rayala-Telangana.

Earlier,KCR lashed out at Seemandhra leaders for staking claim over Hyderabad. He was addressing a gathering of non-teaching staff from the region at the party office. No one can stop the formation of Telangana. These Seemandhra people must feel ashamed for taking credit for the citys development. The erstwhile state of Hyderabad was already rich. These `beggars sweet-talked their way in the region and are now trying to lord over Telangana people because they are sitting on huge tracts of valuable land.We are smart enough to govern ourselves, ensure government jobs to our people and build our own irrigation projects. We need not be at their mercy anymore. There is no going back on the agitation, he said.

Azad T-report by Friday

New Delhi: The Telangana Congress delegation comprising ministers,MPs,MLAs and MLCs along with several senior leaders failed to extract any commitment on the separate state from AICC general secretary in-charge of AP affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday. What the T-leaders finally got after three hours of intense discussions, was an assurance on the submission of the report on Telangana by Azad in two days. The T-Cong team of 35 leaders arrived in Delhi amid the growing fears of attacks by T-zealots demanding their resignations from Parliament and Assembly. But,the leaders told Azad that they would not leave Delhi till they get an assurance on Telangana state. As I promised,I have finished my consultations on the issue two days before the September 30 deadline I will submit the report to party president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh within two days, Azad told the Congress delegation.

Azad said his report would be the essence of what he had heard from Telangana,Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra leaders collectively and individually.I will incorporate whatever I was told by these leaders. The party will take a collective decision based on the report, he said refusing to give any time limit for the final decision.I have finished my Job and cant say when the party takes a decision on the issue, he said. After the meeting,Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao said they would leave Delhi only after high command announced the Telangana state. All the ministers,MPs,MLAs and other leaders will not leave Delhi till the entire process is over, he told the media.

The situation in Hyderabad was explained by panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy. All of us cried, shouted urged, pleaded for an early statement on Telangana. We are hopeful that a decision will be made known soon.Till then,we will stay put in Delhi, Rao said. In the prevailing circumstances,TCongress leaders cannot move freely in their constituencies as we have assured the people that Congress alone could deliver Telangana state, he said.

The Congress team also wrote a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking their immediate intervention to sort out the problem in the state.Life in Telangana has come to a grinding halt.Buses are off the roads.Rail rokos, rasta rokos have become the order of the day.Employees have stopped attending offices.Any delay in addressing the Telangana issue would escalate the tension in the state, the T-Congress warned the central leadership in the letter. The team led by Keshava Rao and Jana Reddy consisted of ministers J Geeta Reddy,B Saraiah,DK Aruna,Sunita Lakshma Reddy,D Sridhar Babu,K Sudarshan Reddy,MPs Manda Jagannadham,S Rajaiah,Suresh Shetkar,Ponnam Prabhakar,Balram Naik,G Vivekananda and 16 MLAs and 3 MLCs.
