తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్రం ఏర్పాటుకు కేంద్రం ఆమోదం

 

న్యూఢిల్లీ: ఆంధ్ర ప్రదేశ్ రాష్ట్రాన్ని విభజించి తెలంగాణ ప్రత్యేక రాష్ట్రం ఏర్పాటు చేయడానికి కేంద్ర మంత్రి మండలి ఆమోదించింది. ప్రధాన మంత్రి మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ నివాసంలో జరిగిన కేంద్ర మంత్రి మండలి సమావేశం ముగిసింది. సమావేశం రెండు గంటలసేపు జరిగింది.  ఈ సమావేశంలో రాష్ట్రానికి చెందిన మంత్రులు జైపాల్ రెడ్డి, పల్లంరాజు, కావూరి సాంబశివరావు పాల్గొన్నారు. రాష్ట్ర విభజనను పల్లంరాజు, కావూరి సాంబశివరావులు వ్యతిరేకించినట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. సమావేశం ముగిసిన తరువాత కేంద్ర హొం మంత్రి సుశీల్ కుమార్ షిండే 29వ రాష్ట్రంగా తెలంగాణ ఏర్పాటు చేస్తున్నట్లు ప్రకటించారు.

*తెలంగాణ నోట్ ను కేంద్ర మంత్రి మండలి ఆమోదించింది

*పదేళ్ల పాటు ఉమ్మడి రాజధానిగా హైదరాబాద్

కేంద్ర మంత్రి మండలి తీర్మానాన్ని హొం శాఖ రాష్ట్రపతికి పంపుతుంది. ఆ తరువాత అసెంబ్లీకి వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంది.

Telangana state cleared, Hyderabad shared capital; Seemandhra erupts in protest

New Delhi:  The cabinet today cleared major steps for carving out a separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad will be shared for 10 years as the capital of the old and new state. Two cabinet ministers, Pallam Raju and KS Rao, registered their strong dissent at today's meeting; Mr Raju offered to resign but was dissuaded by PM, sources said. Protests against the decision have begun in Seemandhra region.

   

Here are the latest updates:

1. The Rayalaseema and Seemandhra regions - referred to as 'Seemandhra' - erupted in protest soon after the Cabinet decision on Telangana. All vehicles have been banned from going to Tirupati temple. Commercial establishments in Vijaywada city will remain closed for two days.
2. Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSR Congress has also called for a 72-hour bandh across Andhra Pradesh against the decision. He said he wasn't pained by his 16-month jail term as much as he is pained by the decision to divide the state.
3. Ahead of the cabinet meeting, activists opposed to the bifurcation of the state protested near the Prime Minister's home. The Cabinet approved a note prepared by the Home Ministry that outlines the plan for how Andhra Pradesh will be bifurcated.
4. The cabinet approved the setting up of a group of ministers who will be assigned to figure out how to divide water, power and revenue between the two states.
5. The group of ministers will also examine special financial assistance for Andhra Pradesh after Telangana is carved out, said Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, promising "fundamental rights" for people from all three parts of Andhra Pradesh.
6. The Cabinet's resolution on the creation of Telangana will be sent to President Pranab Mukherjee, with the recommendation that he refer it to the Andhra Pradesh state legislature
7. Though the Andhra Pradesh Assembly is meant to provide feedback on the resolution, the Centre is not obliged to accept its opinion.
8. In Hyderabad, ministers from Seemandhra have said they will ensure that the resolution is not passed by the state legislature. They have the support of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who is also from Seemandhra.
9. Cabinet ministers who are from Seemandhra - Pallam Raju and KS Rao - reportedly protested strongly at today's meeting over the centre's decision.
10. Hyderabad will start out as a shared capital for 10 years, after which it will belong to Telangana, said the Home Minister. Who gets to keep the prosperous IT hub has been a major headline of the controversial decision by the centre to make Telangana India's 29th state.

Cabinet nod to T may be delayed

The approval of the Union Cabinet for creation of Telangana is likely to be delayed as the Home ministry is yet to finalise the note to be put up before it.Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde has not yet given the go ahead to the draft prepared for presentation before the Cabinet,sources said.Shinde is waiting for the recommendations of the committee,headed by defence minister A K Antony,which is hearing the concerns of all stakeholders in the wake of the CWC decision on a separate

Telangana,they said.The home minister is also expected to place the draft before Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for political clearance.After finalisation,the draft will be sent to the law ministry for legal vetting before being presented to Cabinet.The Cabinet,after giving its approval to the creation of a separate Telangana state,is expected to set up a group of ministers (GoM) to go threadbare into the issues arising out of the bifurcation.That is likely to be followed by a resolution being sent to AP assembly regarding the formation of the new state.After formation,Telangana will be the 29th state of India.
